However, toward the end of breakfast we were asked by one of the waiters for the high chair as another family needed this. However, do not stay here if you are travelling with children - the next morning we came down for breakfast and there were two high chairs (they’d borrowed one from the nursery nearby and put aside for me). The hotel were fantastic in helping me deal with this and rushed me to hospital with him - their actions after I cannot fault. Now I do not for a second blame the hotel for the series of events that occurred after, but as I fed my baby, he somehow fell off the chair as I turned to the table to get his water and missed the cushions that were on the floor and had quite a nasty fall (given his age). My baby was hungry, and so as an alternative I pushed together some of the normal chairs, and one of the waitresses brought over some cushions to place on the floor. I came down for breakfast on the first morning to feed my 6m old baby and was told that there was only one high chair and that this was being used. The second issue I had was around the setup for families. I feel I was misled at the time of booking. The second time we went we were told the pool was not suitable for the baby as it was a training pool and therefore extremely cold and you can only do lane swimming. The first time we went the pool was closed for training. The hotel is not setup for families - we attempted to go to the swimming pool twice - the swimming pool is the one across the road on the university campus. However, I booked the hotel based on the fact that it offered leisure facilities and was a De Vere, ie a brand name I’m familiar with as being a good range of hotel. The hotel itself is lovely - clean, spacious and decent sized rooms. Couldn’t find a lot of options for hotels outside the city centre, but definitely regret booking this hotel. Stayed at the hotel with my sister and 6m old baby as we were down visiting family.
